Basic theory of Chinese medicine-Qi-Blood Water

The idea of the basis of Chinese medicine

There are a wide variety of drugs and foods in Chinese medicine, but all of them are based on the ideas and rules that are the basis of Chinese medicine.  I am going to divide into three and learn each way of thinking.

What is Qi-Blood Water?

First of all, let's learn about "Qi-Blood Water".

"Qi-Blood Water" is the element that makes up the body, that is, the combination of these three represents the human body.

"Ki" refers to vitality, "blood" refers to blood and its function, and "water" refers to body fluids other than blood. A state in which these three elements support each other and maintain a balance is considered to be a healthy state. On the contrary, if any one of them is upset and the balance is lost, some signs such as symptoms will appear from the body.

Chinese medicine is trying to build a healthy body by replenishing this deficient element and normalizing the circulation of energy.

I think his idea is unique and interesting if it is compared with western medicine.

Chinese medicine tries to cure the factor, vitality, which are not able to see.

On the other hand, western medicines are based on science and denies things cannot be proven.

Sometimes it may difficult to understand this concept when using criteria of western style.

About "Qi"    "qi stagnation" "qi deficiency"

" Qi " is called vitality, power to live, vital energy, and is treated as an invisible driving force for human beings and is also responsible for regulating body temperature. It refers to so-called energy, patience, and energy.

And the state where the "Qi" is insufficient is called " qi deficiency ". Examples include tiredness, shortness of breath, sweating, lack of appetite and poor digestion, and a virtuous cycle of poor fuel economy despite the reduced amount of energy received.

When the circulation of "Qi" is stagnant, it is called " qi stagnation". The main symptoms here are those caused by so-called open-ended stress, such as melancholy, gastric abdominal pain, and tightening headaches.

About "Blood"     " blood deficiency " "Blood stasis"

Blood is similar meaning as western medicine. The transport of blood nourishes the skin, hair, and internal organs, so if something goes wrong, it is this factor that has the greatest effect on your appearance.

The condition of lack of "blood" is called "blood deficiency", and it affects the symptoms such as dry skin, anaemia, nail cracking, and insomnia. There are many cases of poor physical condition caused by lack of nutrition.

When "blood" is stagnant, it is called "blood stasis". For example, the colour of the lips is blue, stains and bruises are likely to occur, the upper body is swelling even though the lower body is cold, etc. You can see the symptoms that occur with this.

About "water" " fluid deficiency " " fluid retension "

Lastly, regarding "water", this refers to all liquids other than blood, lymph and saliva, sweat, tears, urine, and other various liquids present in the body. "Water" moisturizes the skin and hair and smoothes the movement of joints.

Such a lack of "water" is called " fluid deficiency ", and it causes constipation because the mouth is dry, the skin and tongue are dry, and the gastrointestinal fluid is also insufficient. Keep in mind that the symptoms are similar to "blood deficiency", but the liquids that act on them are different.

And the state where "water" is stagnant is called " fluid retension". Contrary to " fluid deficiency ", water is concentrated locally, so symptoms caused by a large amount of liquid such as swelling, stuffy nose, loose stools and diarrhea appear.
